MALiA wishes to support continuing education among its member libraries. Applicants for this grant opportunity must be affiliated with a member library of MALiA. Continuing education grants will be awarded according to demonstrated need and the availability of funds.

Successful recipients will be invited to present on their experience at a Spring or Fall MALiA general meeting and be required to submit a report within 30 days of the workshop/event.

Applicants must complete the following steps to be considered for an award:

• The applicant must complete the Continuing Education Considerations form.
• The applicant must submit at least one professional recommendation from their Library Director or Sponsor.
• A general description of the workshop/program and how the applicant intends to implement this learning in their library will be submitted.

Additionally, references may email their letter of recommendation directly to the committee at the above email address.

Within 30 days of completion of the proposed opportunity, the recipient is required to submit a report to the MALiA Scholarship Committee. The report should be:

• Summarize the events and activities completed during the opportunity;
• Share your thoughts on the overall experience;
• Briefly describe any progress made toward the goals identified in the application.

The deadline for submitting applications is December 31.  Awards will be determined by January 30.
